Who we are

Findofax ("Findofax", "we", "us", "our", "the Service") is a local events discovery and search service operated by Restless Knight Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17365637), whose registered office is Unit 82a James Carter Road, Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom, IP28 7DE. References to "the Site" are to findofax.com and any related pages we operate.

These terms apply to your use of the Site and Service. By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

What we do — and don't do

Findofax is an events aggregator and search index. We collect publicly available information about events and venues — primarily from venue websites and other public sources — and present it in a searchable, map-based format.

We are not:

• an event organiser, promoter or host;
• a venue operator;
• a ticket agent, box office or booking platform;
• a provider of transport, accommodation or any other event-related service.

We do not organise, host, supervise, endorse or control any event or venue listed on the Site, and we are not involved in any booking or purchase you make with a venue, organiser or ticket seller.

Listing information is provided “as is”

Listing content — titles, dates, times, prices, descriptions, categories and venue details — is gathered and processed automatically from third-party sources, including by automated extraction from venue websites. We do not independently verify it and cannot guarantee its accuracy, completeness or currency.

Events can be cancelled, rescheduled, moved, changed or sold out at short notice, and listings may occasionally be duplicated, incomplete or refer to events that do not take place.

Always check details — especially date, time, price and entry arrangements — directly with the venue or organiser before travelling to an event or buying anything for it. Any reliance you place on listings is at your own risk.

What we are not responsible for

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible or liable for:

• events that are cancelled, rescheduled, changed or do not take place;
• inaccurate, incomplete, out-of-date, missing or duplicated listing information;
• the conduct, organisation, quality, safety or legality of any event, venue, organiser or third party;
• tickets, bookings, purchases or contracts made with venues, organisers or ticket sellers — these are solely between you and them;
• wasted journeys, travel costs, ticket costs, losses or disappointment arising from reliance on listings, including travelling to events that do not exist or have changed;
• anything that happens at an event or venue, except where caused by our negligence;
• the content, availability or practices of any third-party website you reach from the Site.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to that, the Site and Service are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. We exclude all implied conditions, warranties and statutory terms except those that cannot be excluded by law, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

To the extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to your use of the Site or Service (whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise) is limited to the greater of £50 or the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Acceptable use

You must not:

• scrape, harvest, bulk-download or systematically extract data from the Site (including listings, venue data or contact details) other than through published APIs, without our prior written permission;
• resell, republish or redistribute listings or venue data for commercial purposes without our prior written permission;
• interfere with, damage or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its infrastructure or related systems, or circumvent security or rate limits;
• introduce malware or attempt a denial-of-service attack;
• use the Site to transmit unlawful, defamatory, obscene or infringing material, or in breach of any applicable law.

We may suspend or withdraw access to the Site for any breach of these terms.

Content you send us

If you submit a venue request, event feedback or correction, area interest registration, or any other material (“Contributions”), you confirm you have the right to share it, and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, reproduce and use it to operate and improve the Service (including contacting venues and publishing corrected listing information). We may edit, reject or remove Contributions at our discretion, and they must not be unlawful, infringing or misleading. If you submit content or venue requests on behalf of a business, venue or organiser, you warrant that you have full legal authority to bind that entity to these terms.

Report a listing (notice and takedown)

If you are a venue owner, event organiser, rights holder or individual and believe any listing, image or text on the Site infringes your intellectual property rights, contains defamatory statements, or displays inaccurate or unauthorised business details, please contact us at hello@findofax.com with the relevant URL and the basis of your concern. We operate an expedited review procedure and will promptly amend, restrict or remove disputed content.

Intellectual property

The Site — its design, text, graphics, software, database and the “Findofax” name and branding — is owned by Restless Knight Ltd or licensed to us, and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Venue, organiser, artist and brand names, logos and trade marks referenced in listings are used solely to identify and describe the events and venues concerned (“nominative” or descriptive reference). No affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement by those parties is implied, and all such rights remain with their respective owners.

You may view, download and print pages from the Site for personal, non-commercial use only.

Links to other websites

The Site contains links to venue, organiser and ticket websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing, security or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement, and your dealings with any third party are solely between you and them.

Some outbound links to ticket agents or booking platforms may be affiliate links. Where you make a booking via such a link, Findofax may receive a commission or referral fee. This does not affect ticket prices or the way listings are presented.

Availability and changes to the Service

The Service is currently in beta. We may add, change, suspend or withdraw any feature, listing, coverage area — or the Service as a whole — at any time, with or without notice. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Privacy

How we collect and handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, together with the “last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, and nothing in these terms deprives consumers of any mandatory rights they have under the law of their usual place of residence in the UK.
